Noise and Vibrations:
two aspects of the same problem
We know, though you may think otherwise, it is quite probable that you do not have a noise problem, but almost certainly you have a problem of noise and vibrations. If we do not begin by identifying your problem, we’ll hardly be able to solve it.
| Vibrations produce noise and the noise produces vibrations. In a building for example the transmission of noise between two floors is always a problem of transmission of vibrations throughout the structure.

A machine with a motor makes noise because the motor emits noise but also because it makes the structure of the machine vibrate and this vibration emits noise. In an automobile you would hear very little noise if the engine supports did not transmit vibrations to the rest of the structure, etc.
We could continue with many more examples but the idea is clear. If you want to solve a noise problem do not look for an expert in noise, look for us, the experts who understand vibrations both theoretically and experimentally.
