Vibration Control in a section of the AVE high speed train

ICR has carried out a study for vibration control and monitoring due to the construction works of the AVE in the St Andreu sector of Barcelona.

UTE SAGRERA – NUDO DE LA TRINIDAD, formed by the companies ACCIONA Infraestructuras and COPCISA, and responsible for the construction works in one part of the sector, has asked ICR to supervise the vibrations in the area, in order to comply with current regulations and avoid inconvenience for citizens.
In order to carry out long-term monitoring of vibrations, a large amount of technical equipment is required, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the subject; there are few companies that fulfil both requirements. However, ICR can measure vibrations in real time, in order to obtain data every second they are measured. This is the only way to obtain immediate results and to give the client the chance of knowing the level of vibrations immediately.
The company also presents weekly and quarterly reports on the evolution of the vibrations in periods of 24 hours, and it carries out a monthly control of the measuring chain to make sure that the whole equipment has been operating properly during these three years.

The company researches (R+D) new methods to solve vibroacous-tic problems. ICR also designs software for quality control and transmis-sion loss and teaches acoustics to private companies and official colleges.
