Research study for the project “The Multidimensional City”

Ingeniería para el Control del Ruido S.L.(ICR) has finished its collaboration with International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) in the research project 'The Multidimensional City', coordinated by Dragados and funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

This scientific-technological project has been carried out together with technological centres, universities and public and private institutions, with the aim of obtaining more comfortable and sustainable cities, which in the long term will enable the introduction of services for the citizens, without inconvenience for society or the planet. The project has lasted three years and ICR has collaborated with the CIMNE in the development of the vibro-acoustic part, with a full analysis in underground construction works.
In the first stage of this project the company carried out a prediction of the acoustics inside large underground infrastructures with a complex geometry.

On the other hand, in the second stage, which was developed recently, the company simulated the acoustic influence in a complicated network of underground tunnels. In order to do this, ICR had to study the propagation of sound, the characteristics of the materials and the geometry of the station, among other things.

ICR is an Acoustic Engineering resolving problems of noise and vibrations. ICR works for the railway, car, industry, construction and environmental sectors. The company researches (R+D) new methods to solve vibroacous-tic problems. ICR also designs software for quality control and transmis-sion loss and teaches acoustics to private companies and official colleges.
