SOME-ECO (Sound Meteorological Environmental Correlation) presented at Galería de la Innovación of Genera 2012

SOME-ECO (Sound Meteorological Environmental Correlation), a pioneering acoustics engineering project in the field of wind energy and whose goal is to solve the current problems of characteritzation and forecast of external background noise, was presented last 23 and 24 of may of 2012 at Galería de la Innovación of Genera (Madrid).

Under de leadership of ICR, Ingeniería para el Control del Ruido, in collaboration with AEMET (State Agency for Meteorology),  has the goal to correlate the background noise with the meteorological variables in a place with specific characteristics and quantify the correlation of short term values of background noise with their equivalent long terms values. The data obtained in this acoustic control study seeks to optimize the financial return of the initial investment, adjust the installed power and the operating strategies of a wind farm.

ICR is an Acoustic Engineering resolving problems of noise and vibrations. ICR works for the railway, car, industry, construction and environmental sectors. The company researches (R+D) new methods to solve vibroacous-tic problems. ICR also designs software for quality control and transmis-sion loss and teaches acoustics to private companies and official colleges.
